On January 14, 2026, it's that time again: Our TEAM Talk series enters a new round. TEAM Talk #9 will once again focus on an interdisciplinary topic: "The Emergence Profile – the Transmucosal Interface." For dental practices and dental laboratories, it is a crucial area – functionally, biologically, and aesthetically.
The emergence profile describes the contour of the crown in the transmucosal zone – from the highest point of the mucosa to the implant platform. This is precisely where the harmonious integration of the restoration into the soft tissue is determined: through stability, cleanability, tissue health, and the overall aesthetic appearance. Because surgical requirements, prosthetic design, and dental laboratory work are closely intertwined, the emergence profile is a true team effort.
TEAM Talk: The Emergence Profile
Wednesday, January 14, 2026 (18:00 PM – 19:00 PM) via ZOOM

What awaits you?
What surgical prerequisites must be met before soft tissue can be conditioned? Are there rules that influence the shaping process? And above all: Who is responsible for designing the emergence profile and how can it be implemented in practice within the workflow? We will discuss these and other questions together – thoroughly, practically, and interdisciplinarily.
The TEAM Talk focuses on three key questions, which we will examine from the perspective of the EADT eV – dentistry, dental technology, materials science, and the dental industry. Participants will receive insights for their daily work and can contribute their own questions and comments.
Central questions
- What are the optimal conditions for the formation of the emergence profile? (Position of the implant, quality and quantity of the mucosa, timing of formation)
- Are there different rules for shaping the emergence profile – from the perspective of dental practice and dental laboratory?
- Which materials are suitable and what should the surface of the abutment be like?
To ensure a productive exchange, the number of participants is limited. EADT members have the advantage of securing a free and exclusive spot first.
Registration
The number of participants is limited to enable an optimal exchange of knowledge. EADT members can participate free of charge. Any places still available will be released to interested parties (non-members) one week before the TEAM Talk (participation is free).
