TEAM-Talk Basic: Does prosthetics need more movement?

Leonhardt_Virtual Patient

TEAM Talk September/October 2026: The virtual patient and the added value of dynamic movement data. Dr. Christian Leonhardt – one of the most distinguished experts on the virtual patient and dynamic patient analysis – will take us into his world in two TEAM Talks.

The digital workflow in prosthetics is developing rapidly. Intraoral scans, facial scans, and virtual articulators are commonplace in many places. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly clear that a person is more than just a static data set. Movement, function, and individual dynamics play a crucial role in many prosthetic treatments. The key question is: Are static data sets sufficient to reliably plan complex prosthetic rehabilitations? The answer is increasingly: "Yes and no."

TEAM-Talk BASIC: Virtual Patient

Tuesday, September 30, 2026 (18:00 PM – 19:00 PM) via ZOOM

Digital datasets form the basis of many modern treatment concepts. But do they truly represent the patient completely? This is where the discussion about movement data, the virtual patient, and technologies like ModJaw begins, which are currently receiving considerable international attention.

What clinical benefits do dynamic motion data offer? For which indications is the additional effort worthwhile? And where are the limitations?

For this highly topical discussion, we are pleased to announce that Christian Leonhardt will be our speaker for our TEAM Talk. With his clinical experience and his consistently digital approach to functional relationships, he is one of the most distinguished experts in the field of dynamic patient analysis. His presentations and concepts are currently providing important impetus for the discussion surrounding the virtual patient. Together, we aim to contextualize this topic in a scientifically sound, practical, and interdisciplinary manner – entirely in line with the EADT's mission.

What can you expect? Three key questions in focus

This topic cannot be answered in one hour. That's why we've introduced the TEAM Talk for the first time as a... two-part series Designed to address three key questions, each TEAM Talk answers three guiding questions, which we examine from the perspectives of dentistry, dental technology, materials science, and the dental industry. Participants receive concrete insights for their daily practice and laboratory work and can actively contribute their own questions and comments to the discussion.

TEAM Talk Special “Virtual Patient” – BASIC

In the first part, we establish a common foundation and answer three key questions:

Registration

To ensure a productive exchange, the number of participants is limited. EADT members have the opportunity to secure a free and exclusive spot first.

The number of participants is limited to enable an optimal exchange of knowledge. EADT members can participate free of charge. Any places still available will be released to interested parties (non-members) one week before the TEAM Talk (participation is free).

Registration is initially for TEAM-Talk #10 – BASIC. This forms the basis for the subsequent TEAM-Talk #11 – ADVANCED on October 14, 2026. Registration for the second part will be activated after the first TEAM-Talk.
