The focus of TEAM Talk #3 is on three key questions about abutment hygiene, which we examine from the different perspectives of EADT eV - dentistry, dental technology, materials science and the dental industry. Participants receive well-founded information for everyday work and can submit their questions and comments. First, the specific questions are discussed and then discussed. Insight into the topic
Our topic “More hygiene please!” “Focus on Abutment Hygiene” deals with the cleaning of individual abutments. As semi-critical and critical Medical Devices Implant abutments require proper and thorough cleaning, although standard evaporation alone must be considered inadequate as a cleaning method.
A fundamental distinction must be made between cleaning with hot steam, ultrasonic cleaning and chemical cleaning with different agents (alcohols, etc.); We will take a closer look at these during the TEAM talk. We also refer to study results and scientific studies to consider detailed cleaning procedures. The aim is to raise awareness of the topic and discuss practical and reproducible workflows to achieve a clean abutment according to generally accepted guidelines.
