TEAM talk “Abutment hygiene” now as video on demand

At the beginning of July 2023, the TEAM Talk, our interactive online format for knowledge exchange, focused on an explosive topic: “More hygiene please! Cleaning medical devices – focus on abutment hygiene”. Given the great importance of cleaning processes for implant abutments, we are making this TEAM talk available to the general public here. The informative and insightful discussion is available as video on demand.

The hygienic handling Medical devices and abutments in particular is a challenge that dental practices and dental laboratories alike have to face. The complex field requires a lot of attention, care and coordination. In our TEAM talk we took up the topic and examined the various aspects. If you missed the TEAM talk or would like to see the details again, you can watch the video on-demand here. Further information

In conclusion, it can be said that our TEAM talk was an extremely enriching and insightful exchange, despite the large number of open questions. It became clear that answering the open questions requires intensive collaboration and interdisciplinarity. Only by combining dentistry, dental technology, dental technology and materials science can we find practical and laboratory-relevant solutions. The moderator of the TEAM talk, Carsten Fischer, summed it up: “Doing nothing is not an alternative.” This statement underlines the urgency and relevance of the topic. It is not only a question of professional practice, but also a question of patient safety and health. Continuous improvement of abutment hygiene is therefore of utmost importance.

The video offers anyone interested the opportunity to delve deeper into the topic and find out about the current discussions and challenges. We would like to thank all participants for their interest and participation.

In future TEAM talks, we will continue to discuss relevant topics from the dental practice and the dental laboratory in an interdisciplinary manner (dentistry, dental technology, materials science research, dental technology and development). Because together we make the difference.
