Call for a working group for materials science research at the LMU Munich
A materials science research working group at the Polyclinic for Dental Prosthetics at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich is calling for people to take part in a survey on the surface pretreatment of restorations. As part of a research project, the survey is intended to gain valuable insights into the daily methods and parameters used in the pretreatment of prosthetic restorations.
User knowledge required!
The working group's survey deals with a central component of dental and dental technology work: the production and attachment of dentures. By participating in the survey, you support research in the field of dental materials science and ultimately help to enable even better treatment options for patients. Be it a dental practice, dental laboratory or research facility – in-depth know-how regarding the materials and their pre- and post-processing is essential. Among other things, surface pre-treatment (e.g. before fastening) is an essential step on the way to a successful result.
The working group's survey focuses on the parameters that are taken into account in connection with corundum blasting. Dentists and dental technicians are invited to take part in the survey and thus actively support research and development work in this area. The experiences and knowledge from everyday life are of great value in gaining even more understanding of the practical parameters.
Participation in the survey is possible until May 31, 2023.
