Defect-oriented minimally invasive reconstruction represents an advanced approach in dentistry that aims to specifically restore damaged tooth hard tissue while protecting healthy structures as much as possible. By using modern digital technologies such as 3D scanners, CAD/CAM-supported procedures and digital smile design tools, the dentist can achieve precise and predictable results. These techniques make it possible to create aesthetically sophisticated and functionally stable restorations with minimal loss of substance.

This lecture will introduce the principles of defect-oriented treatment, the use of digital tools, and the choice of materials and clinical approach for the reconstruction of tooth defects, taking the long-term prognosis into account. Basics of materials and manufacturing processes, step-by-step presentations of clinical and technical treatment with case studies, long-term results, decision-making aids for practice and laboratory, etc.
