The TEAM Talk from EADT eV, the interactive online format for knowledge exchange, will enter the next round on October 16, 2024. The topic: Pressed ceramics - Update 2024.
The focus of TEAM Talk #7 is on three key questions about pressed ceramics, which we will examine from the various perspectives of EADT eV - dentistry, dental technology, materials science and the dental industry. Participants receive well-founded information for their everyday work and can bring in their questions and comments. First, the specific questions are discussed and then debated. A well-prepared moderator ensures a targeted exchange of ideas and condensed results. One hour - one topic; short - crisp - intensive.

Insight into the topic
Pressed ceramics – a discontinued model or an underestimated long-running product? There has been little talk about it in recent years and we ask ourselves: Is the dwindling hype about pressed ceramics justified, or has the focus simply shifted? In the TEAM talk we take a closer look!
Press ceramics, especially lithium disilicate ceramics, impress with material properties that are still unmatched today: high flexural strength, impressive fracture toughness, excellent biocompatibility and low plaque accumulation. These advantages enable minimally invasive preparations while maintaining high stability - properties that are still indispensable in modern dentistry.
But what makes the pressing technology so special? The answer lies in the precision. The controlled expansion achieves an excellent fit and edge stability. In addition, the technology can be easily combined with CAD/CAM workflows - doesn't sound "outdated" at all, does it?
Pressed ceramics are also at the forefront in terms of aesthetics: natural translucency, a wide range of colors and the possibility of polychromatic restorations open up almost unlimited possibilities. And what about long-term stability? Clinical studies show that pressed ceramics are a reliable companion that lasts for decades. So it's time to put this proven technology back in the spotlight!
Stay tuned for exciting insights and feel free to actively participate in the discussion. We look forward to your participation and a lively exchange! See you soon at the TEAM Talk!
